Brief: Introduction about event.
ANIDA DAY kicked-off on 26th and 27th March, 2022 in Toronto. This ANIDA DAY was special for reasons more than one. It was the 25th anniversary of ANIDA and a glorious opportunity for people to create a legacy their children will be proud of! The purpose of building a legacy is not just create something for yourself, but to pave a path for the generations to follow. A path your children, your spouse, your siblings, your loved ones can walkon and fondly remember you by.
The event kick-started with the ANIDA DAY feature video that showcased all the people involved over the last 25 years in making lives better for the poor and helpless. The video showcases hundreds of women empowered through our Women Development Program and thousands of children being provided opportunities through education and health care. Stories in this video are truly a testimony to what people in poverty can achieve if given the right kind of support and opportunities. These stories ignite hope and hopefully, presents us an opportunity to be a part of this hope.
BUILDING A LEGACY FOR THE LORD!
One of the key highlights of ANIDA DAY was Senior Pastor Samuel Donkor’s sermon about building a legacy for the lord.
Below are some of the key take-away from the sermon:
1. We do not struggle for our daily bread. Have more than enough to eat and spare. This blessing comes with a moral responsibility; To create a legacy for our children to follow by catering to the needy and the poor.
2. We shouldn’t pass through this life and disappear. Our prayer and alms will be a memorial before god. We must create a legacy that will be remembered by our loved ones long after we are gone.
3. The meaning of Oiktermos is mentally express pity for a situation or a person. The meaning of Eleemosune is to take action resulting from the pity. Eleemosynary helps bring glory to god. Take action!
4. The Lord says: When you gave my brethren food when he was hungry, you gave food to me. When you gave him to drink, when he was thirsty; you gave drink to me. When my brethren was naked and you clothed him; you clothed me. When my brethren was sick and you visited him, you visited me.
5. The correct time to build a legacy is NOW! A wonderful opportunity presents itself in the form of ANIDA to cater to the needy and the poor, and pleasing god with your noble actions.
