ANIDA's Community Resilience Plan

Responding to COVID-19

What we are doing to ensure the well-being of our clients, volunteers, supporters, and staff.

As the situation around the COVID-19 is affecting the whole world and, more specifically, our community, ANIDA International, would like to provide you with an update of our response. The health, safety, and well-being of our clients, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. We are actively monitoring the situation of this pandemic following the direction of the Toronto Public Health, Health Canada and the World Health Organization.

As we navigate through the COVID-19, we understand it may be increasingly challenging for some families to access food.

To ensure a safe environment for everybody, we are taking the following actions:

  • Increase our on-site hygiene by encouraging staff and visitors to wash their hands frequently and use sanitizers in between.

  • Postpone any unessential international travel until further notice.

  • Canceled or postpone events and encourage staff to work from home when possible to promote social distancing.

  • Ask all staff and volunteers to stay home if they experience flu-like symptoms.

Again, we want to count on your support in this unprecedented moment. As many organizations reduce hours to help curve the spread of COVID-19, there is an increasing demand for services like food banks. We are increasing our hours to serve more clients and delivering food to people who are unable to access our foodbank.

As you would expect, the closure of many facilities disturbs our networks and the ability to distribute food. Many families will not be able to stock up during these uncertain times and may lack food for their children during these school closures. However, they won’t go hungry with your help. Donations will keep our shelves stocked for individuals who need food during this time.

We have many people who are dependant on our services, and without you, they may lose the little sense of hope they may have. Can you help us do even more to respond? Any gift will make a world of difference.
